Another one shocking type of BM: foot binding
January 29th, 2008This type of body modification was practiced in China for one thousand years. Girls have their feet wrapped from the early ages thus limiting the normal development and crippling them. Worth noting that as a result of this leads to disability.
Zhou Guizhen who is 86 years old, shows one of her bound feet where the bones in the four small toes were broken and forced underneath the foot over a period of time, at her home in Liuyi village in China’s southern Yunnan Province, 23 February 2007. According to popular Chinese legend the custom was at first adopted among courtesans after a Tang Dynasty emperor about 1000 years ago fell in love with a concubine who wrapped her tiny feet in silk when she danced and the practice soon entrenched itself in the lower classes. It became the ultimate measure of a woman’s beauty and also a condition of marriage and part of bedside repertoire. To mold the so-called “lotus foot” girls’ feet were wrapped at about six years of age, an agonisingly painful process that would break the bones. MARK RALSTON/AFP/Getty Images

Eight hundreds needles were pierced on the head
February 8th, 2007Medicine doctor from China pierced about 800 needles on the head, his name is Wei Shengchu. Btw, this man already won a Guinness World Record in 2004 for piercing 1790 needles in his body. Dr. Wei use self-piercing as a way to promote China’s traditional acupuncture. He don’t want to stop and promised to pierce 2008 needles in year 2008. What do think ?

This is what I want you to say! I have read your selection of articles about the piercing, it’s very cognitive, but sometimes it seems too bloody and terrible stories in comments. But indeed piercing isn’t so painful, then it’s so cool and raises mood! You walk the couple of days blowed away and don’t pass no one mirror, but after your eyes burn! You want to live, to sing, to love… who knows, that he will understand me. As for me, piercing is better then medicine for the stresses. I have pierced my tongue several days ago… this is REALY BEAUTIFUL!!! Don’t be frightened to make your life more bright. Now I’m happy and beautiful! And I wish you all the same!! )
